What it does

Features

Taskbar & menu bar

On Windows a compact panel sits inside the taskbar with the next prayer and a live countdown. On macOS the mosque icon sits in the menu bar; the countdown is one click away, with the whole day’s schedule underneath.

Home screen

Click the tray icon for a golden analog clock, the full daily schedule, the countdown and one-click access to settings.

Your own adhan

Download a ready recitation from inside the app, or drop your own MP3 into the folder for each prayer — dawn, noon, afternoon, sunset, night. Your own files are never overwritten.

Expiry reminders

Short beeps at 45, 30 and 15 minutes before the current prayer window closes, so a prayer is never missed by accident. Can be switched off.

Worldwide cities

Over 34,000 cities in 244 countries, searchable and accent-insensitive, stored inside the app. Each city carries its own time zone, so times stay correct even when the city differs from the computer's clock.

Screensaver

After an idle period the screen fills with an analog clock and the day's schedule — or with your own images, shown full-frame with the time on a discreet bar.

Works offline

A whole month of times is fetched at once and cached locally, so the app keeps working without a connection and does not hit the network on every launch.

Silent updates

New versions download and install themselves in the background from our own release feed. No store, no prompts, no restart nagging.

Setting it up

Windows

Three steps
  1. Run the setup. The installer is unsigned, so Windows SmartScreen shows a warning — choose More info → Run anyway. The app installs per-user; no admin rights needed.
  2. Pick your city on first launch, or let it find you automatically.
  3. Get the adhan — right-click the tray icon → Hazır Ezan İndir for a ready recitation, or → Ezan Klasörünü Aç to drop in your own audio files.

macOS

One command
  1. Open Terminal (press ⌘ + Space, type Terminal, Return) and paste one line: curl -fsSL https://mejelsoft.com/mac | bash It detects whether your Mac is Apple silicon or Intel, downloads that build, installs it to /Applications, clears the download quarantine flag and signs it on your machine — the app is not notarised by Apple, and Apple silicon refuses to launch anything unsigned. Then it opens. Run the same line again any time to reinstall.
  2. Look at the menu bar, not the Dock. The mosque icon appears on the right-hand side; there is deliberately no Dock icon. Click it for the countdown, the day's schedule and every setting.
  3. Pick your city — the first launch asks. Search among 34,000 cities or press Konumumu Otomatik Bul. Times follow that city's own time zone.
  4. Start it with the Mac: menu → 🚀 Girişte Başlat. From then on new versions arrive on their own — the app checks for updates every six hours and replaces itself quietly while you are away from the keyboard.

Rather not pipe a script? Download the Apple silicon or Intel zip, unpack it and run ./install-mac.sh inside — same steps, done by hand.

The adhan

Audio per prayer
  1. Ready-made recitation. Menu → ⬇ Hazır Ezan İndir… → select the pack → İndir ve Kur. It only fills prayer folders you left empty, so your own recordings are never overwritten.
  2. Or use your own files. In that same window press 📂 Klasör, or open ~/Library/Application Support/EzanVakti/Ezanlar in Finder (on Windows: %APPDATA%\EzanVakti\Ezanlar). Drop one audio file into each folder — 1-Sabah, 2-Ogle, 3-Ikindi, 4-Aksam, 5-Yatsi. mp3, m4a, aac, wav and aiff all work; the first file alphabetically is the one that plays.
  3. Silence or stop. Uncheck 🔊 Ezan Sesi to mute every prayer, or press ⏹ Ezanı Durdur to stop one that is playing.

Screensaver images

Optional packs
  1. Download a pack. Menu → 🖼️ Ekran Koruyucu → ⬇ Görsel Paketi İndir… Pick a language pack and press İndir ve Kur. Downloads resume where they stopped and are checksum-verified, so a dropped connection costs nothing.
  2. Or use your own photos. Same submenu → 📂 Görsel Klasörü, then copy jpg or png files into ~/Library/Application Support/EzanVakti/Screensaver. Keep them directly in that folder — subfolders are not scanned.
  3. Tune it. Idle delay 3–30 minutes, slide duration 5–60 seconds, shuffle on or off. ▶ Şimdi Başlat previews it immediately; any key or mouse move brings the desktop back. Video calls and full-screen playback suppress it automatically.

Privacy

What leaves your PC

No account, no tracking

There is no sign-up, no analytics, no telemetry and no advertising. Nothing you do in the app is reported anywhere.

Network requests

Prayer times come from the public aladhan.com API — it receives only coordinates and a date. If you ask the app to find your location, an approximate lookup may be made through ip-api.com. Update checks and optional image packs are fetched from mejelsoft.com.

Stored locally

Settings, cached prayer times, your adhan audio and screensaver images live in %APPDATA%\EzanVakti on Windows and ~/Library/Application Support/EzanVakti on macOS — never uploaded.

Location

Windows Location Services are used only if you press the locate button and grant permission. The Mac build never touches Core Location — it offers an approximate IP lookup instead. You can always pick a city by hand.
